Lake Travis Youth Soccer is holding the
Fall 2008 Rec Plus Observation Day on Saturday, Aug. 16 on
Field of Dreams on HWY 71.
All interested U9 and U10 boys and
girls wanting to play Rec Plus need to attend this playing
session.
Boys from 8:30am to 10:00am and girls
from 10:00am to 11:30am. A mandatory parent meeting
will take place at 10am at the Red Hut at FOD.
U10 ('99) - player is birthdates
between 8/1/98 & 7/31/99
U9 ('00) - player is birthdates between
8/1/99 & 7/31/00
U8 - younger players are allowed to
play up, but need to be approved by coaches during
Observation Day.
The Lake Travis Rec Plus program was
started to create a stronger player development program for
the serious U9 and U10 (generally 3rd & 4th grade)
recreational soccer player. The Rec + program is
comprised of those interested 9 to 10 year old rec players
(the Fall 2008 U10 player is birthdates between 8/1/98 &
7/31/99 while U9 is for birthdates between 8/1/99 & 7/31/00)
who have demonstrated an ability and passion for the game.
The purpose of the Rec + program
is to give the more serious or advanced rec players a chance
to train/compete against some stronger competition and work
more closely with the select trainers.
The Rec Plus program is a middle step
between rec soccer and select soccer for those considering
trying out for our select program in the future. Those
interested players would train two times per week with games
on the weekend. The Lake Travis select coaching staff
would train the teams during the week and coach them on the
weekends.
The Lake Travis Rec Plus is open to any
and all willing and able to make the commitments.
There are no tryouts for
the Rec Plus team.
